*What You Do. *



* Maintain and promote a safe work environment by taking appropriate safety measures.

* Represent Sargento in a professional and ethical manner when dealing with governmental agencies (City, State, OSHA, DNR, USDA, etc.) and external entities (WI Public Service, Insurance Carrier, Security, vendors, contractors etc.).

* Strict housekeeping of work area.

* GMP knowledge and practice at all times. 

* Follow established maintenance excellence processes and required standards of excellence.

* Responsible for providing comprehensive project management duties for all phases of assigned projects, including project and scope development, concept development, design, budgets and estimates, project schedule, control, training, startup, documentation, and project closeout.

* Supervises Project Technicians, and assigned project resources including Maintenance Technicians, contractors, and other personnel.

* Provides engineering and process expertise for development of facility and utility improvements, equipment upgrades, reliability projects, and R&D projects.

* Provides analysis and leadership for process and COGS improvements to production lines/facilities.

* Participates and provides technical support or resources for operational continuous improvement efforts.  Uses available data and measures processes to quantify project justifications.

* Helps troubleshoot and solve difficult problems or produce new products on all Production lines and tests/recommends changes as needed to make improvements.

* Ensures that proper engineering principles are followed on all plant projects.  Ensures that equipment is appropriately designed, installed and guarded, and appropriate training developed to ensure safe equipment operation. Ensures new equipment meets appropriate hygienic design.

* Coordinates engineering studies and design work utilizing third party vendors as required by project to define project scope.

* Stays current with the latest relevant technology.

* Interface with regulatory agencies (WDA, USDA-Dairy, FDA, OSHA, etc.) to ensure compliance of equipment and projects.

* Serves as project team resource when assigned as a team member to a project team or corporate Engineering project. 

* Acts as CAR Project Manager to assigned projects.

* Invents or discovers new and useful processes, machines, manufactures, or compositions of matter, or any new and useful improvements thereof for the exclusive use by and ownership of Sargento.

* Assigns to Sargento all ideas and inventions conceived or developed while employed by Sargento or as a result of employment with Sargento and discloses to Sargento any inventions that are conceived or made.

* Fully assists in making patent applications as well as refraining from disclosing inventions or ideas to others unless requested to do so by Sargento and assigns all rights to Sargento.

* Travel will be required as necessary.  Will be required to use own vehicle (mileage reimbursed) for regular daily travel between facilities and/or vendors.  Overnight travel will be required dependent on assignment.

* Confidentiality is required for all work.

* Has the ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support project efforts.


*Supervisory Responsibilities*.



* Supervises Plant Project Technicians. 

* Oversee assigned technicians and/or outside contractors or engineering personnel. 

* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

* Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


*Your Education and Experience.*



* Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in a relevant Engineering/Technical area required.

* 3 to 5 years progressive experience in a relevant engineering area preferred.

* Strong computer skills are required for this position, including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, SAP, CAD System.
