Responsibilities

Wellstar West Georgia is currently seeking a PRN Polysomnographer to join their dynamic team!

The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Wellstar Health System Sleep Services or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is able to perform the duties defined for a Registered Polysomnographic and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff as needed.
Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:

Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology;

OR

Successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technologist.

Required Minimum Experience: N/A

Required Minimum Certification: Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) card from the American Heart Association (AHA) on the first day of employment in position. Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and must have and active certification in one of the following:

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT);

or

• Registered Sleep Technologist (RST);

or

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) that possesses the Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential.

Required Minimum Skills: Basic computer knowledge (preferred basic knowledge of Microsoft office); Exposure to basic sleep equipment.
