Position Information: Job Summary and Responsibilities

The laboratory of Dr. Marc Basson has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Position will study intestinal epithelial differentiation and/or mucosal healing in vivo and in vitro in the NIH-funded laboratory. This position will utilize qRT-PCR, western blot, site-directed mutagenesis, and viral gene transfer as well as create and use adenoviral vectors expressing mutated forms of various proteins. Opportunities also exist for small animal studies. 

 

Minimum Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in cell or molecular biology or equivalent 

Preferred Requirements:
  • Expertise in molecular biology
  • Experience with plasmid or viral construction
  • Experience with qRT-PCR. Western blot, site-directed mutagenesis and viral gene transfer
  • Experience with the use of siRNA and adenoviral vectors
  • Highly developed communication and organization skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

Compensation and Appointment:
 

Position: Post-Doctoral Fellow
Salary: $35,000 - 45,000/year 

Benefits:

Twelve (12) month, full-time, special appointment with University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS).
