The Institute for Democratic Engagement and Accountability (IDEA) at The Ohio State University invites applications for up to three Post Doctoral Scholar positions to contribute to ongoing projects including the Shop Class for Democracy and Connecting to Congress.

The Shop Class for Democracy initiative consists of a large series of online deliberative forums for all first-year students across all OSU campuses, casting off a large amount of survey data. Skills and experience with quantitative analysis in R (e.g., text-as-data, NLP), qualitative skills (e.g., analyses and interpretation of elite interviews), and familiarity with the legislative politics and representation literatures will be relied upon for success in this role.

There is some flexibility concerning start date, bur preference will be given to candidates available to start by August 8, 2022. Initial term will be one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding.

Application materials should include a CV, personal statement, writing sample, and contact information for two references.
