Primary Function of Position:

The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in the newly formed Internal Audit Analytics function at Intuitive. The primary responsibilities of this team are to:

  1. Develop the Continuous Monitoring program that provides real time insight into business processes to detect risks, fraud, and transaction inaccuracies. This is accomplished in 3 steps:
    1. Aggregating data from potentially disparate systems into our EDW
    2. Analyzing the data in creative and effective ways
    3. Visualizing the data to identify areas of opportunity
  2. Provide oversight of project prioritization and execution.
  3. Maintain and improve data pipelines, master datasets, and dashboards

This position will serve as a primary point of contact for all analytics requests into our Internal Audit department. The successful candidate will work closely with department leaders to understand the business processes and develop analytics to detect any anomalies. The right person for the job will apply their exhaustive knowledge of data analysis to solving real-world problems faced by our company and finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects and teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide analytical services and tools to the Internal Audit function to develop the Continuous Monitoring program;
  2. Partner with IT systems owners, Enterprise Architecture data owners, & business process owners to oversee the planning, prioritization, & alignment on critical analytics initiatives;
  3. Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining and engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication of deliverables;
  4. Use business data & statistical methods to provide insight into business performance and suggest areas and methods of improving operations;
  5. Practice good data and reporting governance & help improve overall master data integrity;
  6. Present insights and recommendations to executive management for decision-making and strategic planning;
  7. Provide additional ad hoc analytics capacity to serve different leaders in the business;

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required in a finance or quantitative field; Master’s / MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in a highly analytical role.
  • Prior experience with Finance systems a plus (specifically: SAP, BPC, Ariba, Concur, Audit Board, Bank Interfaces, & Hyperion)
  • 5+ years of experience creating visualizations with Tableau, ability to leverage 2+ data sources;
  • Strong SQL skills, ability to perform optimized querying involving multiple tables and subqueries;
  • Prior experience with SQL Server, Snowflake a plus;
  • Working knowledge of data engineering principles: understanding how to store, manage, & retrieve large-scale data sets from multiple systems for analysis or operations;
  • Experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business teams;
  • Demonstrated ability to be a trusted & respected business partner to all levels in the organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, & execute upon numerous processes and projects simultaneously;
  • Intellectual curiosity with a strong passion for continuous improvement and process automation; Lean certification preferred;
  • Strong problem-solving, quantitative and analytical abilities; Solution-oriented;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
