Your Role:

At EMD Serono an exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Immuno-Oncology group focusing on the development of novel therapeutics that modulate the immune system to attack tumors. In this role, the candidate is expected to conduct in-vitro cellular/immune assays to deconvolute MOA and develop biomarker assays to support target modulation readouts (PD) and patient/indication selection using human/mouse pre-clinical and clinical tumor material. Responsibilities will include detailed development and precise implementation ofin-vitrocell-based assay systems, critical data analysis, meticulous data recording and presentation of data.

Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g. immunology, cancer immunology, cancer biology) with minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral experience in the relevant scientific field in an academic and/or industry setting. The experience in developing cancer immunotherapeutic in industry setting is highly desired.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in Immunology and/or Cancer Biology
  • Consistent record of cutting edge research in cancer biology, immunology or a relevant scientific field, as evidenced by a strong publication record.
  • Experience in managing team(s) with previous demonstrated ability to work as an effective leader.
  • Hands on experiences in and detailed knowledge of in vitro and ex vivo cell based assay development in the field related to oncology and immunology.
  • High proficiency with immuno-assays including IHC and pre-clinical biomarkers, flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, cytokine release assays, IncuCyte live cell imaging, etc.
  • Molecular Biology: qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA
  • Meta-analysis of data from public databases
  • Experience in managing academic research collaborations is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization and multitasking ability combined with the capacity to quickly adapt to project priorities to deliver data packages according to established timelines
  • Ability to interact with senior management in matrix organization
  • Forward-thinking and creative with high ethical standards
  • Track record of scientific accomplishment and publications in the advancement of new therapeutic concepts
  • Capacity for providing intellectual input, creative insight and assisting in the design of project work-plans
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary project teams
