Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma, or equivalent. CDL-A license, Preferred: National and/or state certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic determined by appropriate state requirements.

Experience: Five (5) years as a CDL-A driver.

Supervises: None

Summary: CDL-A:CDL-A Driver is responsible for the safe and effective operation of mobile medical unit out in the assigned destinations as scheduled and as needed and maintain unit.

To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:

Essential Functions:
1. Operates mobile medical unit and ensures functionality by conducting regular vehicle inspections, ensuring maintenance and vehicle logs are up to date.
2. Ensures all equipment is functional as per manufacture's recommendations and replaces any expired supplies.
3. Adheres to state and city safety regulations and ensures compliance with agency service and safety policies.
4. Collaborates and works efficiently in a medical support role to supervising medical professional, typically a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.
5. Must be able to work independently in the field or within the mobile medical unit. Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
6. Must be willing to work shifts that require an adjusted schedule for events outside of the normal work week.
7. Ensures adequate physical strength to maintain and maneuver the mobile medical unit.

Measurable Deliverables:
1. Identifies and requests emergency services when needed.
2. Provides careful handling of clients and staff during transportation to group services and/or special events.
3. Conducts daily visual checks of the mobile medical unit, equipment and supplies to confirm the unit is in excellent operating condition.
4. Upon completions of usage, performs maintenance of mobile medical unit, including discharge of waste system, replenishment of supplies, refilling hygienic water containers, cleaning and disinfecting. Returns unit to its designated parking area and ensures that it is secured.
5. Schedules unit and agency vehicles for preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and/or agency assigned schedules.
6. Reports all safety and maintenance concerns to director including vehicle issues, coordination difficulties and change in travel plans.
7. Reports accidents immediately to supervisor and police.
8. Completes company accident report form. Refrain from ever using a handheld cell phone while operating a vehicle.
9. Provide consistent and effective communication with supervisor for any mobile medical unit concerns or needs including vehicle issues, coordination difficulties and change in travel plans.
10. When needed, assist the Emergency Management Division as assigned by maintaining responsibility for the mobile medical unit during an official tasking and/or deployment.
11. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
12. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by the position supervisor.

Credentials, Skills and Abilities:
1. Maintain current licenses including any certificates required for the position but not limited to: a valid driver's license, CDL-A license for operation of mobile medical unit.
2. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
3. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
4. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
5. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
6. Ability to obtain specialized training and/or licensing in the proper operation and handling of an oversized vehicle.

Demonstrate the ability to:
1. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English. Organize and prioritize responsibilities and duties efficiently.
2. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
3. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
