Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design control meetings and support the development, writing and releasing of manufacturing documentation. Support validation IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, test protocols, and test method validations. Execute provided protocols and write reports to ensure equipment/processes meet part/assembly specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain simple project timelines and provides updates and feedback to project leadership.
  • Confers with team to gain decisions with management, R&D, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing, formulations, process requirements and capabilities.
  • Confers with vendors to determine basic product specifications and arrange for purchase of small equipment, materials, fixtures, and/or parts. Evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements, production and field performance data to identify issues and opportunities for improvements.
  • Plans and performs Design of Experiments (DOE) to determine optimal processing methods and formulation
  • Hands on investigation and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Train manufacturing personnel.

Required Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in execution, data analysis, and interpretation of experiments.

Functional Description

Provides technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area. Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques and production yields for existing products. Develops and conducts statistical analysis such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) targeting physical cause of failure for yield loss and improving quality. Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.

  • Possesses a high level of theoretical knowledge. Ability to deliver technical ideas that have an impact on the objectives. Understands organizational and functional processes and policies aligned to the technical and business goals.

  • Demonstrates technical proficiency. Works on moderately complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interprets data and draws conclusions regarding results used in presented material.

Judgement

  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or Masters degree and 0-2 years equivalent experience.

Workplace Type

  • The Workplace Type for this role is Assigned Desk. Based on the nature of your role you will have an assigned desk or office located at a Dexcom site and should plan to be onsite approximately 4-5 days per week.
