Job Summary:

Hill York seeks a Procurement Manager who will lead the effort to standardize and improve the purchasing function company wide. This leader will strengthen vendor relationships, leverage purchasing power, and develop new and innovative strategies to maximize profitability. This hands-on role is responsible for the procurement of parts and equipment used in our HVAC operation across four locations. Procurement Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage parts and equipment fulfillment function for Hill York's operations.
  • Ensure parts are ordered accurately and purchase orders are tracked to closure within the ERP system.
  • Obtain and store relevant documentation to support purchases in accordance with the company's Authorization Matrix.
  • Monitor vendor on-time delivery performance.
  • Identify saving opportunities and lead cross functional teams to drive down cost and expand profit margins.
  • Assist in developing supplier strategies that will deliver high quality, on-time delivery, and appropriately priced parts.
  • Introduce projects as the Procurement subject matter expert; evaluating, selecting, and negotiating with new vendors.
  • Work cross functionally to review project requisitions/proposals, obtain quotes, provide accurate pricing and coordinate purchases.
  • Provide regular reporting on open purchase orders as well as communicate status of orders in relation to part returns, claims, warranties, and credits.
  • Settle invoice inconsistencies and offer accounting guidance on cost variations.
  • Communicate price changes with required teams.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Operations Managers, Service Managers, technicians, and warehouse personnel to ensure parts and equipment are delivered within expected timeframes.
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external customers/vendors.
  • Keep management informed of the company's procurement performance and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through communication.
  • Implement and sustain standard operating procedures for the department.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators.
  • Provide support and/or lead regular team meetings focused on continuous improvement.
  • Manage and submit quarterly reports for EMCOR Rebate programs.
  • Manage the use of P-Cards for field associates and identify the best use of P-Cards for purchasing items needed in the field in consideration of other teams' workload.
  • Standardize item master in ERP.
  • Foster growth of direct report(s) by continuously reviewing performance, coaching, and providing merit recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent of five years relevant experience.
  • Three years of team management.
  • Must be able to independently execute and manage multiple projects to meet saving goals.
  • Demonstrated success in working with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with data and cost analysis.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills.
  • Hands-on, self-motivated, and self-starter with a strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, detail oriented with strong follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Able to work with complex BOM structures.
  • Working knowledge of MS Dynamics GP or other similar ERP systems.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment.
  • Strong desire for continuous improvement.
  • HVAC knowledge is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite; eg. Excel v-lookups and pivot tables.
