Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Product Owner to lead the development and integration of a patient portal across a well etablished client's expanding network. This role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless user experience, driving digital transformation, and aligning the portal's functionalities with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for the patient portal that aligns with the merger's integration strategy and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define product vision, goals, and success metrics.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, including clinicians, IT professionals, and administrative staff, to gather requirements and feedback.
- Act as the primary liaison between the business units and the development team, ensuring clear communication and alignment of priorities.
- Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of the patient portal, from conceptualization to deployment and ongoing support.
- Ensure timely and within-budget delivery of portal enhancements and integrations.
- Advocate for the needs and perspectives of patients and providers in portal development.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and work with CX/UX teams to inform product design and enhancements.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of the patient portal with existing electronic health records (EHR) and other digital health platforms.
- Address data interoperability challenges and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the success and impact of portal implementations.
- Continuously identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.
- Develop and implement change management plans to facilitate portal adoption across the network.
- Coordinate training programs for end-users to maximize the utilization and benefits of portal features.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MHA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a healthcare setting.
- Proven experience with patient portal platforms.
- Experience navigating complex projects, particularly mergers and acquisitions, in the healthcare industry.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of EHR systems, specifically Epic Systems.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
Certifications:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification is a plus.
- Certification in the patient portal platform is highly desirable.
