The Program Coordinator supports and guides a number of essential department-wide initiatives related to Quality & Safety Program and Department Redesign, working under direct supervision and guidance of the department's Quality Chair (QC) and the Senior Administrative Manager. The position's key functions pertain to providing administrative, operational and systems support and oversight to ensure the Department meets safety and operational goals that help ensure a safe and efficient care environment for both patients and the department personnel who care for them.

  • Directly supports and collaborates with the Department's QC in the development, administration and oversight of key quality and safety management policies, procedures and systems
  • Supports the QC and other Quality and Safety Committee members as follows:
  • Centrally secures, collects, manages and presents as required all Department generated or external Q&S data
  • Related, interfaces with other departments and personnel within the MGH Center for Quality and Safety to generate quality and safety data ensure optimal collection and interface of data for Urology use
  • Performs Q&S analysis as requested by the QC or as generated during Q&S meetings.
  • Manages Q&S data-base and prepares dashboards for reporting of Q&S metrics
  • As appropriate to do so, assists and supports Q&S event investigations
  • Collaborates with Q&S coordinators in other, related surgical departments to identify and deploy Q&S best practices
  • As needed generates Q&S data necessary for Department Faculty annual conference and re-credentialing efforts
  • Develops agenda and materials for the Departmental monthly Q&S meeting; takes minutes for subsequent distribution to committee members, Department Faculty, etc.
  • Arranges, attends and supports key meetings between the QC and MGH Q&S administration
  • Assists in preparation of Q&S presentations required by the QC
  • Supports redesign and implementation of departmental workflows and standard operating protocols
  • Communicates with and trains staff members and Faculty on ongoing redesign and Q&S work


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required

Required: Previous experience collecting, managing, preparing and presenting data for review.

Preferred: Some excel, database and presentation software experience
