The College of Business at UCCS is currently seeking applications for the Program Director of Graduate Programs position. The Program Director of Graduate Programs is responsible for the management and administration of the College of Business (COB) Graduate School of Business Administration's (GSBA's) Executive Doctor in Business Administration (EDBA)program. The Program Director will also support other Graduate Programs including the part-time (evening) MBA, the Online MBA, and the MSA primarily in student support and advising. The Program Director is responsible for overseeing and executing the recruiting, admissions, and program operations to achieve enrollment goals as established by the University and the Dean of the COB.

The Program Director works closely with COB faculty and staff with specialized consideration given to the COB Graduate Faculty Director of the EDBA. The Program Director works closely with prospective and current students. This position will also collaborate with various departments on campus such as the Graduate School, the Registrar's Office, the Admissions Office, Financial Aid, Institutional Research, the International Affairs Office, etc. The Director is the person most identified with all our Graduate Programs and manages the program growth and improvement with the faculty directors. Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Manages and administers a quality graduate program (25%)
Responsible for the administration/management/compliance with all graduate policies, procedures, and programs. Serves on the Graduate Programs Admissions Committees and attends the Graduate Executive Committee meetings in a non-voting capacity. Works with the Director of Undergraduate Programs and Department Chairs in scheduling classes. Serves as non-voting member of the Graduate Team, and sub-teams. Assists with implementing and managing the systems, policies, and processes that will enhance the graduate academic experience and improve service to the student body. Supports the reporting process/requirements for the graduate programs. Oversight responsibility for the graduate program budgets (four separate accounts managed). Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and opportunities in graduate business education and works with College of Business faculty and staff to pursue appropriate opportunities. With assistance from the Graduate Program staff, campus Institutional Research, and the COB Career Development Center, ensures the accurate reporting of program data to U.S. News and other outside stakeholders. Oversees the collection of statistical inquiry, application, enrollment, and graduation data.
Student Support & Advising (20%)
Provides graduate student advising for all graduate programs on admissions requirements, policies, degree planning, and student engagement. Communicates, disseminates, and documents College and University requirements, policies, and procedures to prospective, admitted, and enrolled students. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring graduate student records from inquiry through graduation.
Recruiting (20%)
Assists Faculty Directors with planning and execution of a variety of events including participation and attendance at college and university fairs, company education fairs, information sessions, webinars, and open houses. Recommends recruitment activities and work with the Faculty Directors to set recruiting goals.
Event Planning: Organizes and coordinates programs and events (20%)

  • Responsible for event planning, logistics, management, and execution of residency weekends.
  • Assists with program/event planning and coordination specifications with faculty and instructors, including obtaining special training materials, assembling program materials, and planning for delivery of programs.
  • Coordinates program communication for students and instructors of the residency weekend.
  • Organizes, manages, and tracks materials for programs and events.
  • Coordinates all after-event and after-program communications, payments, and logistics.
  • Works with the faculty director to create, distribute, and compile after-residency surveys. Assists the Faculty Director in the review and analysis of survey results.
    Admissions (15%)
  • Manages the administrative process of COB graduate admissions primarily for EDBA including evaluating applications and informing prospective students of degree requirements and academic standards. Facilitates EDBA admission's committee.
  • Reviews the admissions process on an annual basis and makes recommendations for change.
  • Collaborates with other campus offices such as Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Bursar, Veterans Affairs, International Affairs and the Graduate School as needed during the admissions process.

Use programmatic, budgetary, operational, and strategic skills to set and achieve goals. Ability to train and supervise employees.
    Work Location: Some evening and weekend work will be required. This position has the option to work partially remote as determined with supervisor.

    This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

    What We Offer:

    Salary Range: $52,957 - $70,609 per year.

    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

    Tentative Search Timeline:

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
      Completed Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. At least four (4) years of full-time equivalent professional work experience in an academic environment. At least two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional work experience in program administration and/or assisting students and/or faculty in supporting their educational and developmental needs.

    Preferred Qualifications:
      Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Experience with the administration of graduate programs. Experience in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience with an AACSB International accredited graduate business program. Experience with administration of an online program. Experience with campus information systems and reporting tools.

    Physical Requirements:
      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
