Job Responsibilities:
Project Engineer-Gas Distribution

The DDS Companies is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Project Engineer. This role will be part of our Natural Gas Construction division. This individual will be responsible for assisting our field supervision and management staff in the execution of both program and complex project work. Duties could involve all the following:

Estimating

• Assist with preparing cost estimates and reviewing subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Responsible for monitoring field activities and track productions, reporting these results to supervision and management.
• Solicits and maintains communications with subcontractors and vendors.

Project Management

• Help develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, conferring with the Project Manager and/or Area Manager
• Prepare project schedule and update on a weekly basis with the Project Manager
• Maintain "red line" as built drawings.
• Complete and maintain daily Task Hazard Analysis as needed.
• Updating Labor, Trucking, Aggregate, Fuel and Equipment logs
• Complete time and materials tickets daily
• Update daily job logs with productions and quantities.

Job Qualifications:

Skills and Experience

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction Management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must know MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Project
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills.
• Ability to quickly gain understanding of project plans, specifications, and customer requirements.

Preferred:

• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• 1-3 years related experience, professional and co-op.
• Prior experience and/or knowledge of underground utility construction
