The Project Geologist (Project Geologist II) position directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organizing, control, integration, and completion of geological projects within area of assigned responsibility. The Project Geologist II is an experienced investigative geologist responsible for managing environmental projects at the field operational level, and supervising field teams and subcontractors managing both the internal team performance and client expectations. The Project Geologist II may also functionally manage personnel and may have direct reports.

The Project Geologist (Project Geologist II) role will be based out of our Orlando, Tampa, or Pensacola, FL offices.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Coordinate and implement large field efforts related to environmental investigation including Preliminary Assessments, Site Inspections, and Remedial Investigations.
  • Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection related to RCRA, CERCLA, and state environmental cleanup programs.
  • Coordinate and direct field staff performing sampling of groundwater, soil, and other environmental media
  • Lead and direct the planning of environmental investigations and provide analysis and interpretation of data to identify data gaps and recommend changes to the investigative approach.
  • Supervise subcontractors and field personnel performing geophysical surveys, direct push/drilling investigations, and implementation of environmental remediation.
  • Prepare reports, tables, maps, drawings, and visual aids to evaluate, plan and obtain regulatory approval on project recommendations.
  • Interface with federal, municipal, and private sector clients pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs
  • Participate in the company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts
  • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attend professional workshops
  • Perform other duties as assigned
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field.
  • 4+ years' experience performing environmental investigations and leading field efforts
  • P.G. or ability to obtain P.G. within one year is preferred
  • Experience with GIS is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license, ability to travel and obtain security clearance at federal installations.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.).
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to present to supervisors.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • This position can be physically demanding and will require work in various working environments/conditions which requires that an individual be physically capable of canvassing large project areas by foot on various terrain and potentially in inclement weather.
  • Work environment will vary greatly depending on nature of assigned tasks.
  • The position may involve travel as needed.
Pay: $50,000-$90,000/ year

Offers will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
