Job Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and reporting on projects and assignments related to medical school curriculum renewal in collaboration with members of the executive curriculum renewal committee, the leadership of the units within the medical school, and other stakeholders across the medical school, Biological Sciences Division, UChicago Medicine, and the University. This role will need to coordinate with leadership to navigate the team through curriculum renewal life cycle, continuous quality improvement efforts, and relevant accreditation tasks as they relate to the legacy and novel curricula.
Responsibilities
Timeline, Goal, and Resource Management
- Plans, manages, and reports on projects and assignments related to medical school curriculum renewal in collaboration with members of the executive curriculum renewal committee, medical school leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinates with leadership to navigate the team through curriculum renewal life cycle, continuous quality improvement efforts, and relevant accreditation (LCME) tasks as they relate to the legacy and novel curricula.
- Utilizes project management software to develop timelines, delegate responsibilities, and monitor progress toward short- and long-term goals based on the leadership team's agenda.
- Defines project milestones, establishes timelines, monitors, and tracks project progress, and escalates risks and issues as needed.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation including detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
Stakeholder Management
- Manages relationships with stakeholder groups (e.g., curriculum-building working groups) and facilitates cross-group communication and collaboration when needed.
- Coordinates, attends, documents, and manages action items from working group meetings and other appropriate meetings.
- Develops and collaborates with relevant employees to execute the plan for simultaneous administration of new curriculum and sunsetting of legacy curriculum over several years.
- Delegates tasks to administrative support team members as appropriate.
Communications
- Regularly updates project principals on progress, including areas of potential concern.
- Manage the Pritzker EVOLVES curriculum renewal website.
- Draft communications (e.g., website updates, email updates) to relay information to different groups of stakeholders (e.g., core faculty, broader faculty/department chairs, students, staff).
- Creates graphs, figures, tables, and charts as needed for internal and external presentations, communications, and/or reports.
- Works somewhat independently to develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Assembles and leads a project team, assigns individual responsibilities, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Is responsible for tracking progress, conducting analysis, as well as preparing for and facilitating project meetings.
- Acts as a resource for a project team and provides analytical guidance. Interprets complex project issues and provides analytical guidance to a project team.
- Performs other related work as needed.

- Demonstrated ability to enthusiastically support and work with Faculty Deans, Directors) medical students, and staff in a 'matrixed' rather than 'silo' organization.
Working Conditions- Hybrid work schedule available with a minimum number of days onsite expected.
