SUMMARY

The Public Health Analyst provides technical assistance and analytical support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Immunization Information System (IIS) vaccine ordering and inventory management activities. This position helps the CDC improve and update Vaccine Tracking System (VTrckS)/ External Information Systems (ExIS) and other ordering system implementation.

The primary focus of this position is to conduct CDC vaccine ordering and inventory management support activities, ad hoc IIS-related data analysis, assessment to support immunization programs, and highlighting IIS data use capacities for program support at the state and national levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reviews and analyzes grantee plans as they pertain to implementation of the VTrckS ExIS (Vaccine Tracking System External Information System) interface.This includes identifying and documenting grantee plans for tracking inventory at the National Drug Code (NDC) level and for ordering vaccines through an Immunization Information System (IIS).

Assists in developing guidance for quality assurance procedures.Analyzes and reviews data used to monitor VTrckS ExIS interface implementation, and partner ordering and inventory management systems.

Coordinates individual grantee conference calls.Schedules calls, prepares / sends invitations, and prepares agenda. Invites speakers.Takes notes during calls.Prepares minutes and action items list following call.Monitors progress of project tracked items.

Participates with other agency officials on all aspects of the program operations, including program needs and policy implications.

Provides operational and technical support to workgroups and to regularly scheduled calls. Assists with convening and facilitating meetings. Drafts notes and follow-up items.Assembles answers to commonly asked questions into fact sheets (i.e.,FAQ's).

Coordinates with grantees and CDC staff on the planning and execution of training events and training exercises around VTrckS ExIS implementation.

Briefs grantees on the file upload testing process. Coordinates file upload testingfor each ExIS grantee with the VTrckS business analysis team. Communicates requirements and results to the grantees.

Contributes to the development of ExIS reference and guidance documents.

Reviews technical documents and consolidates feedback from grantees and CDC stakeholders.

Documents and reviews grantee enhancement requests. Reviews enhancement business requirements documents.

Provides research and analytic support in the preparation of technical reports, papers, evaluation proposals, policy statements / recommendations, bibliographies and other documents.

Participates in the National Immunization Conference as a Moderator or Presenter.

Assists in future planning and VTrckS rollout.

Supports emerging program needs and priorities to include emergency response events related to vaccine ordering and inventory management.

Helps in the management of a public health program which may include, quality assurance, partnerships / collaborations, outreach, orientation, training, reporting, program implementation and evaluation.

Provides offsite assistance through the use of distance technologies.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Master's degree focused on a major field of study in health or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position and previous experience working in a public health setting.Immunization program experience preferred. Familiarity with PowerBI desirable.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

Ability to obtain government security clearance

Must be U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder due to government or federal requirement

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
