General Purpose:

This person will work with the QA Supervisor and will be responsible for maintaining current documents to satisfy the requirements of the Food Modernization Safety Act and associated regulatory agencies, formatting standard operating procedures (SOP) documents, and keeping a register of the latest version of all documents in use.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Document Control Coordinator

  • File documents associated with the Food Safety Plan as directed by the QA Supervisor
  • File documents associated with the Food Defense Plan as directed by the QA Supervisor
  • File documents associated with SQF as directed by the QA Supervisor
  • Update and revamp existing SSOP and SOP documents
  • Maintain formatting of updated versions of SSOP and SOP documents
  • Make necessary changes to forms, work instructions and other documents as dictated by management
  • Add updated forms, work instructions and other documents to DFA electronic database
  • Verify that all Intelex and SharePoint documents are the same with the most recent revision
  • Aid in document preparation and retrieval during all audits
  • Print and distribute production and QA forms as needed
  • Maintain and document quality systems on-site, including but not limited to Calibrations, Proficiency, internal testing and Nevada State requirements
Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in all safety programs and activities
  • Must follow all DFA policies including GMP, safety and quality
  • Communicate any unsafe condition immediately
  • Communicate well with all members
  • Perform all work safely according to company standards
  • Must be able to facilitate meetings
  • Must be able to speak and present information to groups
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%
  • Majority working hours are M-F 7:00 am - 4:00 pm however hours and days may change according to additional training and projects. Overtime may be required as assigned by management.
  • Coverage as needed at instruction of QA Supervisor, primarily covering duties of Laboratory Technician

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years office experience preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or documentation experience preferred
  • HAACP Certification (or ability to receive HAACP Certification within 60 days of hire)
  • PCQI Certification (or ability to receive PCQI Certification within 60 days of hire)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent computer proficiency
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Desire to work as a team with employees throughout the plant
  • Practice good safety and quality habits
  • Problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, ever changing manufacturing environment
  • Excellent time management skills
