Job Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for daily inspection of parts to ensure conformity to company engineering and quality standards. This position will primarily focus on manufacturing runs, out-sourced components and assembly inspections. The QCT will support the following processes with the Senior Quality Technician, Quality Facility Leader and other responsibilities assigned by the Value Stream Leader.
Education and Experience Requirements
Working Knowledge of SAP preferred. Minimum 5 years prior QC or machining experience required. 2 year Technical Degree or equivalent preferred. Lean experience/certification preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and understand drawings.
- Understand the proper use of measuring devices such as, Optical Comparator, Height Gages, calipers, Bore Gages, Thread Gages, and other measuring devices.
- Preferred CMM experience- operation and ability to learn programming using PCDMIS software.
- Preferred knowledge / familiarity of Solid Works software
- Document and communicate inspection findings in a way that is understandable to Machinists, Engineering groups, and Suppliers.
- Math skills. Must be able to convert SAE to Metric and vice versa. Understand math terms such as radius, diameters, angles, etc. , and be able to apply to the measuring process.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to learn the Nordson Inspection processes such as PPAP's, First Articles, and Supplier piece part inspections.
- A working knowledge of GD&T. At least know the symbols and what they represent.
- Detail oriented, self-starter with strong organizational skills
- Effective organizational and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals
- Ability to coordinate tasks, take initiative, solve problems, and effectively manage multiple simultaneous priorities
