Under direct supervision, the Lab/X-Ray Tech is responsible for performing radiologic procedures as scheduled by physicians and for conducting routine lab tests used in diagnosis and treatment of disease.

What you will do:
- Receives, collects, identifies, and labels specimens.
- Draws blood from patient for blood lab tests.
- Conducts tests for evaluating individual health problems.
- Charts results of lab done in-house into the patient's chart. Maintains logbook in lab.
- Records lab tests sent to referral lab in log book; prepares specimen for shipment, records results when test is returned on patient's chart, place on doctor's desk for review.
- Maintains logbook for pathology tissues sent to referral lab.
- Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments. Cleans work area. Performs quality control and maintenance.
- Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains.
- Orders supplies as necessary.
- Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
- Insures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Logs radiologic procedures completed. Processes routine paper work. Types and files reports as requested.
- Develops and processes radiologic film.
- Orders film and other supplies as necessary.
- Recognizes and communicates issues/occurrences utilizing established lines of authority, and assists in identifying ways to resolve variances or unacceptable outcomes.
What we are looking for:
- High school graduation required. Associate degree with courses in chemistry, biology, orrelated fields. Completion of course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Laboratory experience preferred.
- Completion of clinic laboratory training within six months of taking this position.
- Limited license for radiology required.
- Is able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.
- Is able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.
