Everest Global Services, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd., is seeking a Reinsurance Claims Examiner for its headquarters in Warren, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of commercial claim handling experience and possess solid coverage, damage evaluation, claims resolution and customer service skills.

This role is based in our Warren, NJ office working a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a caseload of commercial casualty and/or property claims including GL, Professional Lines, and/or Property Multi-Peril claims.
  • Maintain strong client focus by aggressively and proactively researching issues, providing support, and assuring client satisfaction in a timely fashion.
  • Support underwriting team needs for claim information and consultation on coverage.
  • Evaluate and settle claims, applying technical knowledge and people skills to effect fair and prompt claim resolution.
  • Complete detailed reviews of claim related issues, including coverage, liability and damage and document the claim file appropriately.
  • Set and maintain appropriate and timely indemnity and expense reserves.
  • Conduct claim reviews as necessary.
  • Interact with internal and external clients related to claim matters associated with assigned accounts.
  • Some travel required.

Work Experience and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of commercial claims handling experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills, building and maintaining relationships with underwriters, brokers, and internal and external clients.
  • Experience with handling claims in a paperless environment
  • Strong insurance background with an understanding of insurance business concepts.
  • Reinsurance claims experience a plus, onsite training provided.
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills are essential.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be self-motivated and can work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Interest in developing leadership and management skills.
  • Interest in data and data analytics a plus.
