Job Purpose

Support daily project tasks and lab work requests under supervision. Will work with defined standard operating procedures (SOPs), making minor adjustments to established product lines to achieve performance or application efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow a batch ticket (recipe) with high degree of accuracy for weights and measurements.
  • Perform standard testing procedures, including preparation of materials, with attention to detail and high quality.
  • Follow daily work plan for Lab Work Request or project plan.
  • Accurately document work in lab notebooks (either physical or electronic).
  • Ensure raw materials are available and correctly labelled.
  • Correctly label and mail samples
  • Identifying and resolving process roadblocks. Will communicate concerns to team members as required.
  • Maintain clean and organized work environment.
  • Conform with all site and laboratory safety requirements and policies, demonstrating safe practices and behaviors. Will participate in AkzoNobel safety programs including audits and safety meetings.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates of Science degree or technical certification in related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years' laboratory experience in the coatings industry or chemical manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with customers.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office.

Total Compensation

This position will be paid at an hourly rate with eligibility for an annual bonus. Employee benefits are effective the first day of employment.
