The Patterson Lab is looking for a skilled bioinformatician. The major responsibility is to oversee the annotation of weedy genomes and other bioinformatic needs for the International Weed Genomics Consortium (IWGC). Duties will also include training students and professionals in bioinformatics; compiling, analyzing and summarizing results for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals; giving presentations at conferences; and assisting proposal writing for future funding. This post-doctorate position requires a PhD in computational biology, molecular biology, evolution, or related field. The candidate needs to be fluent in unix environments and python coding. Experience working with the genomes of non-model plants and weeds especially is a bonus
