Job Description

Perform scientific studies and collect/analyze data involving but not limited to the following experimental areas:

Nanomaterials synthesis & chemistry, materials characterization, mammalian cell culture, a range of molecular biology assays, animal husbandry, animal surgery, and animal imaging.

Be responsible for fundamental laboratory management, such as quality control of reagents, ordering of reagents and supplies, and maintenance of equipment.

Liaise with vendors and suppliers for laboratory maintenance and general running operations.

Supervise laboratory members, including undergraduate researchers, and provide mentorship on an individualized basis.

Prepare scientific manuscripts for submission and handle the peer-review process.

Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet Department, Executive Area/Division, and University goals and objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or closely related field.

Ability to use sound judgment in normal and emergency situations.

Additional Information

Main research laboratory will be located at the University of Massachusetts Medical School located in Worcester, MA.

Initial appointment for one (1) year with additional reappointments as long as research funding exists.

Benefitted position, 40 hours per week.
