Retirement Services Consultant

Position Overview:
We are looking for an energetic, positive person to join the Marsh & McLennan Agency - New England Retirement Services Team. Reporting to a Managing Consultant of the Retirement Services team, this position will be responsible for servicing existing or prospective clients and supporting the Marsh & McLennan Agency's Retirement Service sales team in their efforts to secure new retirement business. In this position, the employee will gain a strong foundation of all aspects of the retirement services industry equipping them to grow within the practice, organization and industry.

The Retirement Consultant will be relied upon for insight and broad knowledge of qualified retirement plans for companies of various sizes. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment where they can align a client's long-term business strategies with their retirement plan options. This position also plays an important role in securing new clients through activities integral to the new business development process. What can you expect to do?

  • Apply broad industry knowledge to service existing clients and secure new clients
  • Conduct quarterly investment reviews and fiduciary responsibility meetings with respective clients' senior leadership teams
  • Manage ongoing service needs for all assigned clients
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of corporate retirement plans including design features, service providers, costs, investments, compliance and participant behavior, etc.
  • Assimilate industry and competitive benchmarking data and analyze plan design in order to develop objective recommendations that best fit the client's objectives
  • Manage RFP activities to effectively plan, assess and make recommendations on provider selection, investment strategy & development, and plan conversion to the client
  • Provide on-going/customized investment advisory service and support; problem resolution, plan design review, investment strategy, education, regulatory and legislative updates, etc.
  • Act as liaison between client and retirement plan service providers to achieve optimal results
  • Become well-versed in all of Marsh McLennan Agency's practices in order to articulate our services and value proposition to existing and prospective clients

What we do we look for in a candidate?
  • Conduct quarterly investment reviews and fiduciary responsibility meetings with respective clients' senior leadership teams
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to express ideas clearly, both in written and oral communication
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 and 65 or 66 licensure required within 180 days of being hired
  • Excellent communication skills, including advanced writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage projects amidst competing deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail

  • 3-5 years industry/applicable experience with bachelor's degree and strong technical expertise in retirement plan design/administration
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (emphasis on Excel & PowerPoint) with strength in analyzing and synthesizing data.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce a plus
  • Knowledge of Zoom, Webinar, and video conferencing skills
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment, during core office hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
  • Extended work hours required on occasion
