Safety Administrator

Summary:

This position will perform administrative duties for the Safety Department. Individual will perform clerical functions and will be required to work with other departments across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and/or reports; sorts and files documentation
  • Reviews purchase order claims
  • Assists accounting department in verifying pricing and receipts of purchased products
  • Organizes and maintains file systems, and files correspondence and other records
  • Assists safety orientations with visitors and newly hired employees
  • Distribute emails and route necessary documents to correct parties
  • Arrange and participate in safety related meetings and conferences
  • Follows chain of custody procedures for collection of drug screens
  • Maintains safety supplies and tracking for the team(s)
  • Provides Admin support for multiple assigned departments (Production, Safety, Environmental, Human Resources)
  • Develops and grows internal and external customer relationships for the purpose of improving company's growth
  • Conducts research, and compiles data to type statistical reports
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
  • Assist with management of Workers Compensation and third party claims

One (1) year related experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma, Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent and one to two years office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with employees, peers, supervisors, vendors and customer is an effective manner
  • Must be detail oriented, have excellent origination skills, and have problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables with little or no structure
  • Internal and external customer service oriented
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to come in early or stay late
  • Typical work hours are during the day, but the position may require alternate hours to include; evenings, nights, and/or weekends

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
