Description

The Senior Software Engineer codes and configures software applications based on business requirements. The Senior Software Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. This position will include development and design for Salesforce Sales Cloud and Vlocity implementation. This position also requires ability to bring innovation to the team through stretch projects such as proof of technology research, devops pipeline build out, etc.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer is a software developer who supports the creation and sustainment of a Salesforce Sales Cloud and Vlocity implementation using Lightning framework. The position will support a digital transformation for the Group Segment line of business at Humana.TheSenior Software Engineer will support a cross-functional development agile team to deliver technical solutions to meet business objectives. Examples of potential products include external community applications, internal businessapplications, and use ofAPIs to interconnect Salesforce to legacy systems. This position includes development of software, unit test, code reviews, supporting code deployment and testing. The Senior Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees unit testing and debugging and develops fixes. Utilizes user feedback loops and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. This position would ideally work in the Louisville office where teams are co-located with one another, but remote work at home is also acceptable, particularly initially until COVID-19 allows relocation and/or business travel.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure
• 3+ years of professional experience developing custom solutions on the Salesforce platform using Apex Classes, Apex Triggers, Visualforce Pages, and Lightning Components
• Experience with Web Technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular JS, etc)
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
• Experience with Agile Software Development

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• Familiar with EDA (Event Driven Architecture) design paradigm, Salesforce Streaming API, Salesforce Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and Kafka messaging
• Experience working with and writing intermediate to advanced queries in relational databases (SOQL, SQL, Postgres, Oracle, etc)
• Experience working with Salesforce APIs and Web Services (REST, SOAP)
• Azure DevOps
