Job Description

Eurofins Environment Testing is searching for a Sample Control Technician I in Burlington, Vermont. No laboratory experience is required.

Supports the receipt and shipment of samples into and out of the laboratory. Assists in preparing and shipping bottle kits for delivery to clients and ensures accurate and timely documentation of sample log in, labeling, and routing. Sample Control Technicians will also be responsible for proper disposal of samples from lab storage areas in accordance with all applicable procedures.

Sample Control Technician I responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Receives and unloads incoming samples and verifies receipt against the client's provided documentation. Verifies that documentation is accurate and complete,
  • Logs samples into the laboratory's computer systemto assign a lot number for tracking purposes.
  • Prepares bottle kits daily to be shipped to clients to collect samples and return for analysis in accordance with established procedures
  • Disposes of spent samples, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitors freezer and cooler temperatures daily to confirm that the readings are within SOP guidelines.
  • Cleans and organizes the department daily to promote a clean, safe work environment and smoother flow of daily operations.
  • Maintains and promotes safety and conducts all operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
  • Other job duties as determined by local management.
The ideal candidate would possess the following attributes:
  • Basic knowledge of computers; word processing software and database software
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Basic composition, spelling, grammar, punctuation skills
  • Ability to organize work and pay attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. A 5% shift differential is paid for those working this shift. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Burlington, Vermont are encouraged to apply.

Pay range: $17-19/hr

Please note - Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
