Your role:

Asa scale-up chemical engineer (i.e. a combination project / process engineer with 7+ years' experience), you will workclosely with the laboratory, engineering, operations and commercial groups.You will be able to perform all duties consistent with new product development activities that drive new profitable products toward commercialization.This includes working with chemists in the lab to screen synthesis routes and evaluate various unit operations for scale-up. Youwill serve as the technical lead for stage gated projects. To succeed in this role, you must have a strong commitment to safety, health and environmental leadership, leadDesign Hazard reviews,prepareproject proposals that include a detailed scope description, PFD, P&IDs, a cost estimate, prepare concept drawings, and a timeline or schedule for a project.You will also workclosely with vendors and contractors on design and fabrication during project execution.Routinely documenting results and giving oral presentations on the project(s) status is required.You must also focus on the appropriate intellectual asset management as it relates to a given project.Detailed tracking of project spending and identifying continuous improvement opportunities is necessary.

Who you are:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 7-10 years hands-on experience with laboratory or pilot plant unit operations
  • Familiarity with the design & building of pilot plants andanalytical instruments (FTIR, GC, ICPMS, Raman, etc.)
  • Enthusiastic, innovative, skillful self-starter
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience handling hazardous chemicals such as organometallic materials, toxic and air sensitive compounds
  • Knowledge of the operation of reactors, centrifuges, sublimers, cyrstallizers, distillation, adsorption, VSA/PSAs, refrigeration & heating systems, and containers of various designs to deliver electronic materials to IDM customers, etc..
  • Familiarity with packaging and handling moisture and air-sensitive solids, liquids and gases.
