Summary:
Writes and edits copy for multiple content types and channels with a focus on explaining and promoting the scientific mission and accomplishments of Roswell Park to both lay and scientific/medical audiences, including press releases, newsletters, brochures, scripts, direct mail pieces, website, features and other written communications relating to research findings, new programs and services, technology, faculty, grant awards, meetings, presentations and community initiatives. Open to remote work for candidates living in New York State. Starting hourly rate is $31.13 per hour.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time experience as a writer or journalist.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Prior experience in science writing and/or editing related to medical research, including crafting of press releases, blogs or other content summarizing research projects and results for a lay/nonprofessional audience.
