Security Manager

Assisting in the development and implementation of armed security operations within Billings Clinic. Maintains a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of patients, employees, physicians, volunteers, visitors, and property. Accountabilities include: quality of services; short and long range planning to achieve goals and objectives; fiscal control; interdepartmental/intradepartmental relations; personnel management.

Essential Job Functions

*Assist in the development and oversees safety and security day to day operations to ensure adherence to organizational mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and business strategies. Interprets and supports the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic. Responsible for promotion of, and adherence to, the elements of Billings Clinic's Code of Business Conduct and corporate compliance program.
*In collaboration with Security Leadership and administration develops and implements short and long range plans, and leads, develops and revises security and safety programs which enhance organizational safety and security.
*a) Report and make recommendations to Security Leadership regarding project and management strategies as it relates to security processes and operations. Responsible for conducting site reviews, writing audit/review reports, reviewing findings, and making recommendations.
*b) Assist the implementation of effective security management policies across the organization. Monitors and evaluates organizational performance on key security issues and programs, recommends corrective action programs where appropriate. Responsible for providing leadership, advice and counsel to management on security policy and practices. Identifies exposures and recommends and develop corrective plans as appropriate.
*c) Maintains knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology and update management on risk and threat that could impact organization's business.
*d) Able to perform annual risk analysis, particularly with respect to level of crime, terrorism, workplace violence, threats from natural and man-made disasters.
*e) Ensures effective crime prevention and assets protection program is maintained with appropriate measures taken to meet or exceed standards required by Billings Clinic
*Assist Security Director in the overall marketing, program development, and service priorities. Coordinates with Billings Clinic leadership to assure continuity in pursing security and organizational goals and synergy in implementing plans and problem resolution.
*a) Establishes and maintains robust customer relationships to ensure complete understanding of business operations to enable the delivery of viable security responses.
*b) Can Perform incident analysis and investigation relative to all incidents with advice and closure to all responsible functional management and supporting security management.
*c) Responsible for planning, developing and implementing security plans, security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Incident Management and/or Investigation.
*Helps develops, implements, and maintains a realistic, cost-effective annual budget.
*a) Provides advice and counsel to Security Director on the expenditures of resources for protection of company assets where compromise or loss of these assets could seriously affect company business.
*Practices process improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of the service provided within the organization. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance for department and ensures compliance of department and staff.
*Develops, retains, recruits, and leads a talented team committed to accomplishing the goals and objectives of Billings Clinic and Regional Support. Recommends, implements, and evaluates plans and systems that assure sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide care/services. Adheres to administrative policies and procedures relating to human resource management.
*a) Provides leadership, advice and counsel to all security staff in achieving current and long rage strategic program objectives.
*b) Serves as staff support to Security Director and assists in conducting investigations of significant threats and/or the loss of assets.
*c) Aid in the development and implements security training/orientation programs for security staff and employees of the organization.
*Demonstrates and encourages an ethic of open communication and teamwork throughout the organization. Builds an environment of shared commitment to Billings Clinic's goals and responsibility to achieve quality outcomes. Provides consultation for related concerns and acts as a customer advocate by demonstrating sensitivity to ethical and legal ramifications of practice.
*a) Participates as a member of the Emergency Response and Incident Command Teams

*Regional service area supported expands across Montana and Wyoming

Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • 2 Year / Associate Degree
     in Criminal Justice or related field required; Bachelor's degree in Criminal justice or related field preferred

Experience

  • Five years security services management experience and/or training in a large, multi- campus healthcare system; Ten (10) years preferred

Certifications and Licenses

  • HeartSaver CPR certification
    Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) designation, or Security Manager Certification is preferred Preferred
    National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Certification levels IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800 to be completed within two years of hire
