Overview

Performs general accounting tasks including, but not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly variance analysis.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly journal entries.
  • Posts transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
  • Reconciles specified general ledger accounts to supporting documentation.
  • Assists with monthly variance analysis to prior periods and forecasts, researches and resolves/documents discrepancies and issues.
  • Supports land wire requests from operations.
  • Assists with preparation of commission reports, analyzing and correcting discrepancies.
  • Facilitates and completes monthly close procedures.
  • Prepares monthly divisional financial statements/reporting and supporting schedules.
  • Assists with quarterly analysis, internal reporting and preparation of audit schedules.
  • Corresponds with FP&A, operational and corporate personnel as needed.
  • Assists in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Mentors and supports Staff Accountant team members and Data Entry Clerks as applicable.
  • Reviews coding for Accounts Payable invoices as needed.
  • Provides supporting documentation for audits.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 1-3 years accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Large ERP system or JD Edwards experience preferred.
