Senior Architect

What We're Looking For: 

Barge is currentlyseeking to fill a Sr. Architect position in our Facilities business unitin the Knoxville, TN office. This position assists in all phases of design andconstruction, coordinating with other employees in the architectural andengineering disciplines.  

Responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Effectively manage project team and deliverables to meet the project schedule, milestones, and budget.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of design, construction procedures, building codes, and building materials.
  • Strong skills in collaborating with clients, code officials, and contractors.
  • Effectively partner with business and teams to meet objectives.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Lead meetings with key project stakeholders (clients, consultants, code officials, contractors, etc.).
  • Assist firm leadership and staff as a technical advisor.
  • Strong skills in quality control of documents
  • Mentors others in developing technical and professional abilities
  • Prepares and writes addenda related to architectural projects 
  • Performs other duties as required 

 Education & Experience Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program 
  • Professional Architect registration
  • 8 years minimum architectural design experience, 10+ preferred
  • Experience in designing heavy industrial, commercial, and/or government buildings
  • Effective communication (oral and written) to present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, and clients 
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret specifications, drawings, manufacturer's product data, architectural reference manuals, and other job-related manuals and documents 
  • Understanding of essential equipment for field and office work such as, but not limited to, Revit, Microstation and AutoCAD
