ECS is seeking a Senior Big Data Developer to work in our Washington DC office.

Job Description:
ECS is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Big Data Developer to support a Federal customer and provide solutions that empower them with the tools/capabilities needed to turn data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and perpetual learner; excited to gain exposure and build skill sets across a range of technologies while solving some of our clients' toughest challenges.

As a Senior Big Data Developer, you will work with complex data formats including structured, unstructured and semi-structured data. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting software solutions using appropriate processes, tools, frameworks, libraries, patterns, best practices and standards. You will be building scalable and reliable data pipelines to ingest and process data at-scale and in batch and real-time modes. The work is performed in a multidisciplinary team environment using agile methodologies.

Required Skills:

• Must be a US Citizen
• BS / MS in Computer Science or similar program.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• 3+ years of strong hands-on experience in developing applications in Hadoop ecosystem using industry standard Hadoop tools such as Java, Spark, Impala, Hive, HBase, Sqoop, and Oozie.
• 10+ years of experience designing and implementing large scalable distributed systems.
• Strong experience with Hadoop databases including Hive, Impala and Relational Databases including SQL Server.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python or similar languages.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, continuous Integration, and development automation
• Experience with Big Data Exploration, Profiling, Quality and Transformation techniques.
• Ability to plan, schedule and deliver quality software.
• Experience with agile development environments and Scrum methodology.
• libraries, patterns, best practices and standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication and organization skills.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Hadoop components including Kudu, Solr, Kafka, Flume, ZooKeeper.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug Hive/Impala query and perform query optimization.
• Familiarity with NiFi or Cloudera Data Flow (CDF).
• Cloudera Certified Data Engineer (++).
