Job Description

In recent years, GM Information Technology has successfully executed the largest IT transformation in the history of the automotive industry, fully insourcing what once was a nearly completely outsourced IT function. Today GM IT is a dynamic and fast paced organization that designs, develops and maintains all IT infrastructure, applications and solutions enabling GM's global operations. In this role you will join the Financial Planning & Analysis System development team and will partner with the finance community to transform the processes and systems with industry leading solutions. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will be a member of an agile team that designs, builds, and deploys new financial analytics with data from current financial systems. This individual will be involved in all aspects of the development process including requirements gathering with key stake holders, developing technical design and data modeling, interfacing with various applications and teams, development, and deployment.

In this role you must have proven experience/skills in the following:

  • Minimum of 8+ years in Data Analysis, Design, Implementation, Administration and Support of Business Intelligence Solutions
  • Experience with databases such as SSAS, Essbase, Oracle and SAP
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as OBIEE, Data Visualizer, Power BI, Smart View, Cognos, and Power BI Report Writer
  • Experience in relational and multidimensional design and development
  • Experience designing and developing metadata and data repositories including the physical layer, business modeling, mapping, and presentation layer for various subject areas
  • Experience integrating various data sources with business intelligence solutions
  • Linux/Unix experience
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL, PLSQL, DAX queries
  • Experience in working cross-functionally with senior business leaders to design, develop and evolve reporting and analytics solutions while guiding them on the best business intelligence practices
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline or equivalent experience
