The Senior Buyer role supports the Supply Chain division of Vertiv Services. This role is responsible for determining and executing part planning, parts orders, and data management. This will include all aspects of the Services Department including Thermal, Power, and LTB/Obsolete parts. This role is critical to the success of the service division by ensuring that parts are available when a customer experiences an un-planned outage. Many factors that drive the success of the Service division rely heavily on this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow current order policies and maintain MRP system i.e., lead-times, lot sizes, period of supply and order points and quantities. (all system data accuracy)
  • Review and manage daily backlogs for parts requirements.
  • Process priority orders released from the Service Parts Group. Communicate/escalate urgent requirements to manufacturing and material planners or vendors.
  • Plan and Place Order requirements with manufacturing and/or suppliers weekly and expedite where required.
  • Assist other team members with order plan to ensure they are following ordering procedures
  • Assist in determining LTB/Obsolete issues and ensuring parts are available for lifecycle of Products
  • When needed monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) for planning activities, logistics productivity, monthly financial reporting and provide monthly operations reports to management. Identify problems/weaknesses and recommended resolutions/corrective action plans to management. Some reports are already developed, and some new reports will need to be created
  • Provide timely reports/communications to Finance, Parts Operations, Technical Support and Planning as requested
  • Keep up weekly/monthly inventory reports for both Internal and External customers
  • Query multiple data sources to prepare Adhoc and analytical reports to answer Internal and External Customer Questions.
  • Perform complex Inventory analysis, by querying multiple data sources to suggest and implement Inventory Improvement projects.
  • Actively participate with Vertiv's product teams to proactively understand and address Service part's requirements and consumption, for new product and service offerings, and implications of cost reduction programs.
  • Participate and lead cross functional teams focused on Operational improvement that will minimize standard stocking order lead-times to our Customers and Customer Engineers.
  • Monitor logistical network activity and provide weekly feedback/reporting to the Warehouse Leader.
  • Work with Vertiv Business units worldwide to identify and take advantage of opportunities that exist for better planning procedures, through cooperation with other Vertiv Business Units.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain or business and/or equivalent work experience
  • APICS or C.P.M. certification preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • 5-10 years inventory control/management experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office including: Moderate to Advances Excel and SQL
  • Detail-oriented

  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
