This position will be responsible for business development and marketing of water and sewer related projects to new and existing clients. The candidate must be familiar with planning, designing, and preparing plans/specifications related to water and wastewater infrastructure for local governments. Tasks are expected to include field assessments; modeling; planning; the design of distribution, collection, and transmission pipelines; the design of pumps and boosters, as well as lift stations; and water supply and water/wastewater treatment systems.

The ideal candidate will be able to lead design and manage projects with support of Pond's current staff, while also performing business development duties with the intent to build their own dedicated team of water/sewer designers and engineers.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 8+ years' experience as a civil engineer in a consulting environment completing water/sewer related projects.
  • An accredited degree in civil engineering and Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with marketing engineering services to the local governments and government staff of the Atlanta, Georgia area.
  • A strong understanding of municipal government processing of capital improvement projects including budgeting, grant coordination and scheduling.
  • Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to work with people of varying backgrounds, and strong presentation ability.
  • A strong understanding of hydraulic modeling for pressure piping systems and the ability to perform such modeling fully and independently is required (i.e. WaterCAD or similar software) is desired.
  • LEED AP, or experience in LEED-based design, and/or PMP certification are a plus.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, Arc GIS, Newforma, MS Office & Deltek Vision experience preferred.
  • Experience with supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
