Position Summary:
Responsible for the supervision of day to day obligations within the Scheduling and Dispatch team including Ready Mix and Customer Service Reps while dispatching ready-mix concrete trucks, scheduling deliveries, answering phones, and takes customer orders. Offers product information and pricing, provides courteous customer service. Responsible for coordinating administrative tasks for the department and working with spreadsheets and specialized computer programs. Continually improving the level of customer service and work closely with the technical sales representatives to respond to our customers' needs.

Responsibilities:

• Professional communication with all drivers pertaining to various jobs.
• Assigns delivery times continuously throughout the day based on product availability, plant location, plant hours, time of delivery and truck availability.
• Confirms product availability at various plants as necessary
• Receives customer orders via telephone by completing order form in addition to offering product information and pricing
• Data entry of customer orders into the Command software system
• Schedules orders to ensure efficient, and cost-effective movement of trucks and materials including back hauls
• Re-arrange schedule continuously to accommodate cancellations, quantity changes and "must have" orders
• Responsible for maintaining spreadsheets and other logistic documents in order to maximize truck efficiencies.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required

Requirements:

• Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 3-5 years of dispatching and construction experience required
• Must have excellent computer skills, report writing, and system functionality
• Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
• Sharp critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardizes situations.
• Command Optimizer Knowledge preferred
