Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Export Specialist located in Midland, Michigan!

About You

You will provide expertise in the area of Logistics related to Containerized transport and work in a team focused on exports to all parts of the World. You will cover ocean (FCL, LCL, ISO, Flexi) modes of transport and is directly linked to our Customer Service Organization, Business Supply Chain as well as Site Logistics. You will need conceptual and working knowledge and experience in job discipline to perform a range of work assignments. You'll also use prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations and receives a moderate level of guidance and direction, provide informal guidance to new team members and analyze possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents to solve problems. Also, you will be responsible to:

  • Serve as the logistics focal point for exports overseeing operational issues and escalations within a business/region.

  • Conduct carrier performance meetings and manages KPI's with Logistics Service Providers.

  • Provide export expertise and develops improvement initiatives.

  • Manage business and country specific issues.

  • Initiate work processes and systems enhancements.

  • Utilize Six Sigma to execute improvement projects.

  • Help to execute the RCI in case of serious or moderate incident with containers or air cargo.

  • Leverage practices from other regions.

  • Provide support for mergers and acquisitions.

Your knowledge, skills and abilities include: SAP and DSR proficiency, supply chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs and single work process activities and interactions, team work, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills and project management skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank/ Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Customer Service, Procurement, and/or Site Logistics is required.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Your preferred qualification include:

  • A degree discipline in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences is preferred.

  • 6 years of experience in Supply Chain, Customer Service, Procurement, and/or Site Logistics.
