Position: Senior Manager I, Software Engineering

Job Location: 10500 NE 8th Street, 13th Floor, Bellevue, WA 98004

Duties: Lead engineering teams. Own high-quality deliverables. Participate in code reviews, facilitate design discussions, and optimize engineering practices. Leverage the Java/J2EE stack, Cosmos, Kafka, Camunda, and Azure/GCP Cloud Stack. Track record of delivering high-impact products in broadly defined subject domains. Leverage Microservices, cloud technologies, PL/SQL, and cloud design patterns. Solve problems and work through production issues. Lead in the design, implementation, and support of core database services that are highly reliable, flexible, and scalable. Provide guidance and influence in other areas of the Engineering (e.g., DevOps and Test Engineering). Lead a team in building a highly engaged in-house social-commerce platform that will operate at Walmart-scale. Work with assigned teams and other technical leaders to ensure Walmart's coding and development processes are scaling and evolving with modern development, CI/CD, and engineering practices. Co-create engineering roadmaps for the team and help transition Walmart's platforms to highly configurable and manageable micro-services architecture using next-gen technologies. Own and drive the operational excellence and engineering excellence metrics. Engage with Product Management and Business stakeholders to drive the agenda, set priorities, and deliver best-in-class platforms and products. Oversee hiring targets, operational excellence, budgets, and the required operating rhythm. Regularly interact with various Walmart engineering teams to leverage expertise and contribute to the vibrant technology community. Supervise two (2) (1 Software Engineer II and 1 Senior Software Engineer).

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 3 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 6 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Experience leading software engineering teams. Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java and Javascript. Experience with Azure Cloud Service and microservices architecture using next-gen technologies and cloud design patterns. Experience with database design and optimization in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), including Oracle, and NoSQL Databases, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Cosmos, and Cassandra. Experience with messaging systems, including Kafka. Experience with asynchronous programming, including Node.js. Experience driving operational excellence and engineering excellence metrics. Experience participating in code reviews and facilitating design discussions. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $182,312/year to $264,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
