Position Information:

  • The role is on-site in Pontiac, IL.
  • Domestic relocation is available for the role.
Role Definition:
  • Manages supply chain staff and activities related to the Sales & Operations Process.
What you will do:
  • Leading multiple production support functions, such as material logistics, production scheduling, engineering change coordination, supplier procurement scheduling, material planning, freight management etc., to acquire appropriate requirements to meet customer demand.
  • Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Develop improved policies and procedures to strengthen compliance initiatives.
  • Lead inventory governance activities: define optimal inventory levels and adjustment authority, report production frac stage/milestones, manage inventory with no demand, and the surplus inventory process.
  • Provide leadership over demand management and S&OP processes including customer facing collaborations such as recovery plan communication.
  • Managing day-to-day activities of their staff; participating in interviewing, hiring, and training and development of associates.
Degree/Experience Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Technology, or Engineering fields; or 10 years of progressive supply chain experience desired

Supply Chain Management: Expert of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices, and tools for controlling the whole processes.
  • Builds positive working relationships with contract service providers that maximizes their efficiency.
  • Quantifies and evaluates benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.
  • Participates in joint planning, process design/redesign with customers and partners.
  • Monitors the complete supply chain management process including supply chain finance activities, internal & external capacity issues, and measurements of effectiveness at various points in the supply chain.
Forecasting: Extensive experience of forecasting tools, approaches, and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.
  • Monitors effectiveness of sales and production forecasting systems; adjusts as necessary.
  • Trains others on implementing approaches for creating annual and long-term demand forecasts.
  • Integrates input from diverse sources to produce demand forecasts for multiple products or regions.
  • Selects appropriate forecasting techniques for each product line and plant.
Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Extensive experience in the processes, practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.
  • Evaluates considerations for synchronizing demand for products with production capabilities.
  • Participates in sequencing work to meet targeted delivery dates for multiple and critical orders.
  • Participates in setting parameters for reorders, min/max levels, lead days and job days.
  • Coordinates capacity and materials planning for net demand within a planning period.
Process Management: Expert of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Champions supply chain excellence by removing obstacles and barriers to process improvement.
  • Creates mechanisms for regular process governance.
Inventory Management: Extensive experience in processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage organization's materials, commodities, merchandises, or products.
  • Performs the receiving, ticketing, checking in and distributing of inventory items for a specific location.
  • Produces basic inventory management reports for senior staff to reconcile the inventory balances.
  • Tracks inventory information for a specific product group or location.
  • Follows processes to take stock, release inventory or return into processing; resolves discrepancies.
Logistics Management: Working knowledge of the processes, tools, and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials, and supplies.
  • Uses tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance.
  • Maintains records of all shipments and invoices using an established system.
  • Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity.
  • Participates in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks.
Core Application Systems: Extensive experience in major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.

Level Extensive Experience:
  • Tracks data flow between internal and external processes to minimize business disruptions.
  • Evaluates key interfaces and interdependencies among production systems (EDI, ERP, SAP, MfgPro, ect).
Operational Functions: Extensive experience in major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Leads evaluations of current supply chain functions and their associated costs.
  • Develops others in operations strategies and the supply chain support needed for them.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Extensive experience in effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Builds positive working relationships with contract service providers that maximizes their efficiency.
  • Monitors and reacts to inventory flow opportunity with the facility.
  • Anticipates and adapts to customer changes and adjusts facility build plans.
  • Monitors progress against plan as required to meet objectives and updates customer recovery plans.
  • Reports inventory variances and makes agreed-upon corrections in a timely manner.
  • Provides a vision of the future state that improves efficiency and cost in a culture of accountability.
