The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, prototyping, validating and releasing tools and fixtures that are meant for use during product/process development and manufacturing. You will set the tone for a collaborative environment that values equity of voice, inclusive behaviors and trusting teams.

This position is part of the Biochip R&D Team and will be located in Sunnyvale California with possible collaboration with other sites. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design tools and fixtures which meet design requirements with full understanding of manufacturing process limitations, and test method specifications.
  • Lead, initiate and implement xFMEA, design reviews, documentation and validation activities.
  • Support Technology Transfer activities, Failure Investigations, Continuous Improvement, 5S concepts towards LEAN manufacturing practices.
  • Design-in quality to maximizing yield, capacity, and capability.
  • Participate in a cross functional team.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related fields with minimum of three years of medical or IVD device manufacturing experience
  • Proven and relevant design for manufacturing experiences that highlight Ownership in generating and documenting manufacturing test methods, software and hardware tools, fixtures design using SolidWorks as well as test method validation.
  • Ownership to providing status updates and data-driven analysis.
  • Support and partnership with major stakeholders in process development, documentation, and evaluation.
  • Generation and deep understanding of BOM, manufacturability analysis, tolerance analysis, assembly methods, design reviews.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Basic knowledge of cost reduction and yield improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Minitab or other statistical software tools.
  • Familiarity with a programming language such as Python, C#, C++, etc.

The salary range for this role is $100K - $135K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.

We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
