Lasko Products, an industry leader of home environment products for over 100 years, is looking to add a Senior Project Engineer with Computational Fluid Dynamics experience to the team in our West Chester, PA headquarters.

The best candidate will have a background in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and experience developing consumer and commercial ventilation products. In this position you will be an instrumental part of the Product Development team creating innovative high-quality comfort and health product solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role.

The Senior Project Engineer will lead the projects they are responsible for as well as work with the product teams to integrate new technologies into existing products. You will also contribute in assessing and providing suggestions to increase the performance and reliability of our portfolio of products.

In this role you will manage all aspects of projects you own including coordinating with product managers, engineers, quality, designers, and manufacturing to ensure satisfactory delivery of assigned projects. The Senior Project Engineer is also responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle including planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery. They will track progress toward milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepare reports for senior management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define technical product specification that align with consumer requirements including developing the product specification, defining components and building feasibility models.
  • Driving overall CFD strategy including platform design approach and identifying Value Based Engineering opportunities
  • Support the team in assessing existing product designs and providing suggestions for improvements.
  • Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties.
  • Develops products by studying customer requirements, researching and testing materials and providing DfMA suggestions.
  • Lead the project planning of product development programs including working with cross functional teams to define the work breakdown structure and gaining alignment on project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with BU Managers to evaluate project opportunities and align on scope ahead of project acceptance.
  • Track project status and submit updates to management that identify budget, resource and schedule objectives.
  • Collect project requirements from all stakeholders, managing trade-offs to meet project goals.
  • Ensuring stakeholder expectations are understood and managed accordingly.
  • Responsible for managing and tracking: Project Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Resources, Communications, Risk, Procurement, Stakeholder Management.
  • Mentor other team members on integrating new technologies into existing products.
  • Fabricating proof of concept models and developing test protocols.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Fluid Dynamics or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading electromechanical products projects from prototype to mass production launches.
  • 5+ years of experience with CFD simulation (Fluent, Solid Works Flow Simulation or other similar CFD software)
  • Demonstrated experience with CFD correlation (Simulation to actual flow measurement and mapping)
  • Experienced with flow testing using AMCA and other CFM measurements tools.
  • Experience with Pitot tube sensors and data acquisition systems
  • Preferred experience with basic Arduino control.
  • Experience with MS Project, Smartsheets or similar project management software
  • Experience working with consultants and introducing new technologies into existing products.
