Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Renewables Environmental Planner with experience in environmental (CEQA/NEPA) assessment and permitting of renewable energy, electric transmission, and other energy generation facilities. This role will be responsible for conducting and overseeing research, field work, impact analysis, report preparation, and business development related to CEQA/NEPA and related technical studies. We have an immediate opening and excellent professional growth opportunity for a Senior Renewables Environmental Planner to join our team.

What Do You Get To Do In This Position:

  • Write and manage the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documents for renewable energy, electric transmission, and other energy generation facilities
  • Write and manage constraints analyses and feasibility studies
  • Perform and manage planning duties from the entitlement stage through environmental analysis and project implementation
  • Interface with clients and make public presentations to agency decision-making bodies
  • Perform agency consultation and ensure environmental regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate with technical and regulatory specialists for technical analyses and regulatory permitting and consultations
  • Demonstrate confidence in decision-making and be recognized by clients and peers as having expertise in CEQA/NEPA and related technical areas
  • Perform various business development functions, including proposal preparation
  • Oversee and train junior staff on CEQA/NEPA and other planning/environmental requirements

This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
  • Minimum BS/BA in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related degree
  • 10+ years of increasingly responsible experience
  • Experience in a private environmental consulting firm preferred
  • Experience working with and/or for renewable energy and utility clients
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent organization, schedule and budget management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel as projects require
