Senior Safety Specialist (Experienced Level Professional)

MISSION
In the domain of safety,

  • - To support the Site Safety Leader in ensuring safe operations.
  • - To ensure the accurate application and efficiency of the site's EP Management System.
  • - To be the technical lead of the Safety domain for the facility

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Safety is managed and developed in the site:
  • Plans, implements and assesses occupational health and safety programs and processes to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 EHS management systems.
  • Interprets and advises on the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to facility operations
  • Evaluates and provides selection advice on existing or emergent risk management control technologies
  • Leads audits, inspections and investigations and coordinates resolution of issues
  • Develops corrective action plan to respond to internal/external audits and inspections
  • Works with management to facilitate risk management decisions, including Worker's Compensation
  • Analyzes emerging technology for the identification of potential hazards and control methods

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years or more working as an EHS Engineer or EHS Specialist Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or Safety-related discipline Certifications
  • CSP / ASP, CIH, CPE certifications
  • Advanced competency in controlling critical hazards including working at heights, electrical safety, control of hazardous energy, confined spaces, mobile equipment, and crane-hoisting / lifting and all regulatory compliance obligations
  • Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety and health regulations and industry best practices
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a manufacturing environment;
  • Must be available to support emergency incident response and work occasional nights and weekends
