Dow's Logistics and Site Logistics operations include the management of logistics assets and modes of transportation and technology. It supports the flow of material into Dow for manufacturing and on-site logistics, and to our customers globally. Logistics employees are responsible for the handling, moving and storing of materials in a safe and cost-effective manner.

About You

We have an opening for a Site Logistics Engineer located in Freeport, TX (Plant B). The Site Logistics Engineer role exists to provide technical support and Supply Chain functional expertise to assist PBSL work teams on daily operations in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, cost management, and reliability. As a Site Logistics Engineer, you will identify and implement technical solutions to optimize the site logistics operations and maximize the value Plant B Site Logistics (PBSL) brings to the Dow businesses.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to continuously improve the department's environmental, health, & safety performance

  • Working with Technical Advisors and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet Business and department goals (Safety, productivity, cost, quality)

  • Managing cost and spending for accountable areas in conjunction with technical advisors

  • Understanding all applicable site logistics process technology and equipment for bulk loading and packaging operations

  • Participating in advanced troubleshooting and coaching others to learn these skills

  • Collecting and analyzing operational data to assist with the evaluation of improvement opportunities

  • Demonstrating priority and commitment through personal behavior. Establishes and models expected behaviors for an empowered organization

  • Ensuring that best practices, Most Effective Technology (MET ), and Supply Chain operating discipline requirements are effectively implemented

  • As required, communicating technical information and issues to plant personnel, technology or expertise centers

  • As required, participating on and leading teams in his/her area of accountability

  • Ensuring performance metrics/measurements are collected to track work process and operational performance

  • Evaluating and quantifying the impact that activities such as equipment reconfigurations, design changes, procedure changes, and regulatory implementation will have on PBSL's ability to meet business needs

  • Understanding the Business needs relating to production and translates these Business production goals into site logistics activity goals

  • Ensuring effective measurement systems are in place to track loading productivity and asset utilization

  • Coaching plant personnel on measurement systems and daily updates of performance records and business measurements

  • Leading or assisting in process related root cause or failure analysis

  • Ensuring site logistics operating discipline, procedures and guidelines meet applicable quality requirements

  • Site logistics contact for issues regarding quality, the Corrective Action Management Process (CAMP), and tools to address customer issues

  • Initiating improvement project ideas and working with business/functional improvement leaders to secure funding as appropriate

  • Working with business and logistics personnel to introduce new products

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Biochemistry, with a graduation date of no later than May 2022.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
