Job Description

As the Mechanical Lead, you will be responsible for Maximo administration for the site; you will at times be responsible for a small to medium group of maintenance employees including Electricians, Millwrights, Pipefitters and Toolmakers on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.

As required, you will lead mechanical maintenance, repair of plant equipment, lead short term and long-term solutions, create preventative maintenance job plans; conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results and generate reports to improve uptime of equipment.

  • Maximo business administration activities for the site (Maximo LBA)
  • Mechanical design and function modifications promoting continuous improvement (TIP) to help production operations produce quality parts at rate
  • Asset Sustainability Management and Planning (i.e., Preventive and Predictive Maintenance)
  • Recommend solutions to problems
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions.
  • Meet schedule and quality requirements
  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project.
  • Production Guidance (technical troubleshooting and direction)
  • Production Loss Analysis (downtime reviews)
  • Project Planning and Scheduling Activities
  • Production Launch Support Activities
  • Trades Supervision (directing of trades to perform work as necessary)
  • Implement divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices
  • Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group
  • Has knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
  • Responsible for escalation of issues in a timely manner
  • Must have knowledge of the practical problem-solving process
  • Cost reduction and Generate Technical solutions for current, new, and major programs
  • Support 5000 Maintenance Account budget attainment
  • Assist in developing engineering designs, including subsystems
  • Assist in implementing engineering changes
  • Engineering Documentation Management including creating and updating all types of resource documentation (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, etc.)

Additional Job Description

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lead 3D printing activities
  • Site NPP (Process) and PAT (Plant Asset Team) lead
  • Asset Disposal process (AD), Asset Condition Assessment Planning (ACAP)

Qualifications:

Basic Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent experience
  • 5 + years' experience in automotive conveyor, robot systems and / or structural analysis
  • Proficiency in administering Maximo application (3+years)
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance principles
  • Experience with planning and implementation of systems and processes
  • Experience in developing and executing procedures
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical systems (Robotics, Conveyors, Servos, Mechanical Drives and Tooling)
  • Hands-on troubleshooting background
  • Working knowledge of process equipment operations, sequence, error proofing and diagnostic capabilities
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and work with others in a highly flexible and demanding environment.

Additional required:
  • Knowledge of Team Center
  • Basic industrial controls knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of robot automation, particularly Fanuc robots.
  • Knowledge of fluid fill systems.
  • Knowledge of automated welding and adhesive/sealing dispense.
Knowledge of drives / motion control.
