We are actively hiring for a Software Design Engineer in Test.

Essential responsibilities

  • You have a detailed understanding of testing strategies, methodologies, and tools focused on test automation and continuous execution.

  • You have broad visibility and accountability for scaling test automation in an integration environment, and will work closely with the Product Owners to validate procedures, test plans, and test cases.

  • As the Software Development Engineer in Testing, you will work closely with the delivery and technology teams to understand all the elements of the system software ecosystem, and collaborate QA approaches that support continuous delivery practices and strategies.

  • As Commercial Scales, you will also lead and follow other QA Analysts, ensuring technical oversight and test activities are implemented in accordance with standards and policies and industry best practices.

  • Drive team to verify results and produce test summaries and defect reports; build standard templates.

  • Help setup automation framework and priority in the team.

  • Assess the status of releases and help ensure that releases go out on time with high quality level.

  • Participate process of building metrics to measure and monitor product performance.

  • Support customer engagement activities, defining the process by which the engineering and quality teams monitor, respond to, and address feedback requirements.

  • Handle the tasks of providing accurate and timely estimates for QA (Testing time lines and effort calculation) play an active role in project life cycle, from reviewing requirements through release and post-launch support.

  • Analyzing the key issues and presenting the same to developer for quick fix.

  • Preparation of test summary, after action review and test closure reports.

  • Participate Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.

  • Strong Experience in Agile testing model which involves QA lead activities on a large scale testing model solving IT business problems through testing & implementation support.

  • Expertise in Requirement analysis, Test Design approach, Test Strategy planning, Effort Estimation, System Testing, Implementation and Production support.

  • Hands-on experience in managing defect tracking lifecycle to maintain defects log, to track defects, and to generate defects summary report.

  • Proficient in analyzing and reviewing functional specifications, system specifications and Business Requirement document(s).

  • Participant in Defect management, Bug Reporting and providing status reports to higher management on testing activities.

What would make us excited about you

  • Familiarity with software version control (Git or equivalent)

  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment processes and ability to configure/setup automation suites in CI/CD, e.g. Jenkins

  • Capable with XML, JSON, HTML, and CSS

  • Experience utilizing agile development tools for project management and bug tracking (ex. TFS, Jira, or Rally)

  • Experience testing RESTful API and competent with API testing tools (ex. Postman and Swagger)

  • Familiar with object-oriented programming languages like Java, C#

  • Experience in JavaScript, GitHub, Selenium WebDriver or TestNG frameworks (3+years)

  • Experience in Test Driven/Behavior driven development frameworks (2+years)

  • Experience with platform virtualization environments, i.e. AWS

  • Experience working with customers and users, providing guidance, status, and prompt responses

  • Deep knowledge of Guidewire's products, achieving professional-level certification in at least one product area

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technology or a related field

  • 3-5 years of overall progressive experience in QA engineering

In compliance of Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be, or could be performed in Colorado. If performed in Colorado, this position has a(n) salary range of $85,255-$100,300 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 8% of eligible pay
