Our client is hiring a Software Development Manager to lead our Purchase, Planning and Pricing (P3) team. As the SDM, you will work with a team of 7-9 Engineers responsible for all applications that support the buying, planning, forecasting, and pricing solutions. You will own Tier-1 services with low operational burden that support the pricing features on the site. You will partner with the Machine Learning and Data Science teams on Demand Prediction and Price Optimization capabilities. Your team will build highly available backend services built on the latest AWS technologies.
At work, you will be managing a team of 7-9 engineers to support our buying, planning, forecasting, and pricing solutions. You will be responsible for developing the vision for the team, evolving the current solutions, and delivering projects. You will hire and develop engineers. You will participate in strategic planning for the Technology initiatives. You will partner with internal stakeholders and leadership team as you contribute to organization-wide goals. You will also partner with other teams that your team interfaces with and influence their roadmaps to support your team's initiatives.
· 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
· Experience partnering with product OR program management teams
· 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
· 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
· 6+ years of experience designing and developing complex, interactive consumer applications using modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C, Python, etc)
· At least 5 years managing software development teams including hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience
· Experience with delivering software projects using Agile / Scrum methodologies
