BASIC FUNCTIONS: This position will be responsible for working with users in full life-cycle software development, including gathering requirements, designing solutions, developing full-stack applications, and supporting those applications in production. This position will also be responsible for establishing relationships and collaborating with individuals both inside IT and across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent degree and a minimum of 1 year of programming experience in a business setting OR a high school diploma and 5 years of the aforementioned software development experience.
  • Experience developing in an object-oriented language
  • Experience developing in SQL on relational databases
  • Experience developing client and server side web applications


  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of languages and/or technologies in our stack: C#, .NET, PHP, SQL, JSON, XML, web UI (HTML/CSS/JavaScript), SOA, web services, mobile, Windows server, IIS, SQL Server, SharePoint, and DB2/400
  • Proven understanding of software engineering practices, OO design patterns, architecture, and automated testing
  • Project management experience
  • Customer support or helpdesk experience
  • Manufacturing-related IT experience, with a preference for process-related industries similar to the steel environment
  • Experience with single-page application frameworks such as Ember and Angular
  • Experience with Azure or AWS
  • Experience using source control tools such as Git and SVN
