This person will be working closely with team members in QA and development to expand automation coverage for a high-speed network file transfer product using Java, JUnit, and Selenium. The ideal candidate is proficient in Java with a solid grounding in basic networking, is adept at troubleshooting technical issues, gets excited about breaking barriers, and has the drive and aptitude to learn new technologies quickly.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work closely with software developers and test engineers to develop and maintain automation code using Java, Junit, and Selenium.
• Test, execute, and oversee execution of automation code on multiple operating systems, in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Leverage coding, networking, and general systems knowledge to triage and resolve software and environmental failures.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle and Agile(Kanban) process, following established coding standards, participating in design and code reviews as well as team standups, and submitting and resolving defects and stories.
• Ramp up on additional software, technology, languages, and tools, as required.
• Programming fundamentals and the willingness to learn and strive on the Power platform.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited university co-op program, pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Third year or fourth year standing preferred, though second year may be considered for exceptional applicants who indicate they do extra-curricular or hobby programming.
• Achieved A's or B's in all software development and computer technology courses.
• Strongly proficient in Java, with experience on several of Windows, MacOS, Linux/UNIX.
• Basic networking knowledge (covering most or all of TCP, UDP, HTTP, ports, firewalls, bandwidth, latency, packet loss).
• Software engineering, software support or QA work on the Power platform.
